Kolkata : Isaq Khan, Divisional Railway Manager, Eastern Railway, Howrah hold a Press Conference through Web Link today, in which he upholds various good works done by Howrah Division of ER including transport of essential commodities by 24 x7 freight operation , running of time tabled Parcel Express trains etc to meet up the market demand on the wake of COVID-19. He mentioned that, ER made all sorts of arrangement for running freight trains & Parcel Express trains continuously keeping in view the emergent situation.
He also mentioned about ER’s endeavour for attracting more freight business by forming Business Development Unit (BDU) at Divisional as well as at Headquarters level. He also mentioned about strengthening of medical infrastructures, instance sanitization at Railway premises and other measures for prevention and fighting against spread of COVID-19. Shramik Special trains were also run during COVID-19 lock down to facilitate home return of migrant workers, he added.
